BASKIN-ROBBINS CANADA REVEALS TOP 5 FLAVOUR COMBINATIONS
TORONTO, ON, June 28, 2017 – You just can’t celebrate a major milestone without a special ice cream treat. So for Canada’s 150th birthday, ice cream connoisseur Baskin-Robbins has come up with an truly Canadian flavour combination, BeaverTails® Pastry Ice Cream and Maple Walnut.
“Happy Birthday, Canada,” says Natalie Joseph, a Baskin-Robbins Canada representative. “The great Canadian flavour debate of 2015 revealed BeaverTails® Pastry Ice Cream as Canada’s favourite flavour. We are glad this iconic treat continues to be a fan favourite and is now in collaboration with its perennial rival, Maple Walnut.”
Since 1984, Canada Day has marked the start of National Ice Cream Month. According to the International Ice Cream Association, an entire day is also dedicated to the popular sweet treat. This year, National Ice Cream Day will be on Sunday, July 16.
The BeaverTails® Pastry Ice Cream – Maple Walnut duo is one of 5 combinations the Baskin-Robbins flavour department has selected for Canadians to try during National Ice Cream Month. Other combinations include Chocolate Covered Cherries (Chocolate and Cherries Jubilee), Pina Colada (Pineapple Coconut and Mango Tango) and Strawberry Shortcake (Very Berry Strawberry and Lemon Poppy Pound Cake).
The complete list of 5 can be found here.
The Brand is famous for its 31 flavours, giving ice cream lovers a different flavour to indulge in every day of the month, which are rotated in various combinations as well as being sold individually. “It’s a bit like pairing a wine to a meal, and you can make some great discoveries,” says Joseph. “My personal favourite is Maple Walnut with Nutty Coconut, but with so many options to choose from in our flavour library, it’s fun to keep experimenting.”
BeaverTails® Pastry Ice Cream is also featured as the Baskin-Robbins July Flavour of the Month. 10 cents of every BeaverTails® Pastry Ice Cream scoop sold at participating Ontario based locations throughout the month of July will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Canada.
