AJAX, Ont., November 29, 2019 – Baskin-Robbins Canada, the world’s largest chain of ice cream specialty shops, opens its first location in Ajax, Ontario, and 104th in the country.

“Growing our presence is always exciting,” says Natalie Joseph, representative for Baskin-Robbins Canada. “We’re committed to putting smiles on the faces of our guests and, with the help of Qais, our newest franchisee, we’re sure to reach more people with our assortment of flavours, menu options and exciting creations and promotions. Qais and his team have a deep passion for the Baskin-Robbins brand.”

This newsest location is owned and operated by Qais Hakeemi, a long-time Ajax resident who understands the benefits of opening an ice cream shop with loads, scoops, dollops and tubs of delicious flavours. Hakeemi is excited to meet guests and grow his business with his daughter, son and niece, in the days ahead.

“The fact I am a franchisee feels surreal to me sometimes,” says Hakeemi. “I would sometimes daydream about owning a Baskin-Robbins location. When I made the phone call to Baskin-Robbins, I wanted to make sure I would be a part of a business that cares for its community. I love brands that genuinely value customers and have a strong connection with their town. I’ve found that with Baskin-Robbins.”

The location features the brand’s complete menu including classic and seasonal ice cream flavours, sundaes, mikshakes, polar pizzas and signature cakes.

The new location will be celebrating a grand opening event in the spring.
